Dr. Hui Su has recently joined the Panel of the Process Study and Model Improvement (PSMI) of the US CLIVAR Program for a four-year term through December 2024. US CLIVAR is a national research program investigating the variability and predictability of the global climate system on seasonal, inter-annual, decadal and centennial timescales, with a particular emphasis on the role of the ocean and its interaction with other parts of the Earth system.
Dr. Su will bring to the Panel her expertise on using observations and models to understand the role of tropical convection and ocean-atmosphere coupling in climate and climate change and her extensive work quantifying and understanding climate model biases and the potential influences on climate sensitivity.
