Director Kuo-Nan Liou was awarded the 2013 American Geophysical Union Roger Revelle Medal, which recognizes scientists for their "outstanding contributions in atmopsheric sciences, atmosphere-ocean coupling, atmosphere-land coupling, biogeochemical cycles, climate, or related aspects of the Earth system." Previous recipients include a Nobel Laureate, the Pioneer of Chaos Theory and the "Butterfly Effect," and a number of other highly accomplished scientists. The awards ceremony will take place at the AGU Meeting in San Francisco on December 9-13.Director Liou was also featured for this accomplishment in a UCLA Today article.
